The Dark Hedges

The Dark Hedges is a broad avenue lined with beech trees planted in the 18th century. Many visitors recognise it as the Kingsroad from Game of Thrones. Tourists may not drive on the road itself, but you’ll be able to park nearby and walk down to see this iconic spot.

Fallen trees from the Dark Hedges were carved to make a series of Game of Thrones doors. You’ll find them throughout Northern Ireland, including at the nearby Dark Hedges Estate, at the Fullerton Arms in Ballintoy, at Mary McBride’s in Cushendun, and at Ballygally Castle in Ballygally.

The Dark Hedges are approximately 45 minutes away from Carnlough by car. To read more, click here.
